At the beginning we started as a group with a common interest, then we became a working group and finally we ended up as a non-profit organization, with the initiative of the member companies coordinated by the Minister Jorge.A.Arguindegui who is in charge of the United Nations Purchase System in the Argentine Foreign Office.
The FEAPNU follows the principles that in his speech to the Davos World Economic Forum in January 1999, UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan proposed as a Global Compact between the UN and business to uphold and promulgate a set of core values in the fields of human rights, labour standards and environmental practice.
The FEAPNU is the Forum of Argentine Companies Suppliers of United Nations, created in the beginning of 2002, in order to achieve a common aim: a competitive exportable offer to meet the demands made by the different Agencies, Funds and Programs of this Organization. The purpose of the Forum is to improve the participation of the national companies within the purchase market of the United Nations. The United Nations Procurement System obtains goods, products and services for around 50.000 million dollars per year.
The FEAPNU had a sustainible growth and nowadays is composed of sixty enterprises and is following all the necessary procedures to finally get its legal institutionalism.
